Dear Customers,

Please allow me to update you on some important changes in the insurance market in Thailand and some news about our company Global Insurance Broker Co., Ltd.

As those clients who hold insurance policies from QBE Insurance Thailand PCL know, QBE has closed their office in Pattaya as of the end of 2016.

There is still some confusion about this matter, which should be clarified. It was certainly only the QBE Insurance branch office in Pattaya which was closed. Global Insurance Broker Co., Ltd. is more alive than ever before and 2016 brought us growth again, thanks to the support of our dear and well respected clients. But also QBE Thailand will continue to operate their business in Thailand. All other rumors are simply incorrect. Their main office in Australia has recently invested an additional significant amount of money to further improve their Thailand operation. We are still one of the selected agents and we will continue to cooperate with QBE as we have in the past.

But as always, we will continuously follow the changes in the Insurance Market for you and update you on possible changes or offers of other insurance companies in the market.  We hold broker contracts with many different insurers and therefore we are able to offer you the coverage you need and the coverage you are searching for. You need look no further, just tell us your wishes and we will find the best solution for you.

Many clients asked us in the last couple of days regarding the announced discount for motor insurance, if a CCTV camera, or dash cam is installed in the vehicle. The insurance department, OIC, has announced, that insurers must give a discount if such cameras are installed. But there remains confusion much between all insurers and the OIC, as the rules are not yet fixed. It is not clear yet, which cameras will be accepted and how the discount will be given. All insurers are working hard on a soon to be presented solution. Be assured we are on it and we will update you as soon as all details are fixed. In our opinion the press was just a bit too fast in publishing this news release.

Please also be informed that the former limit of alcohol will be soon reduced from 150 mg to 50 mg alcohol in the blood as limit for the cover of your motor insurance policy.

In April this year we celebrate the 3^rd anniversary of Global Insurance Broker Co., Ltd. at our present location near BIG C in South Pattaya. In addition, we will celebrate 16 years of business operation in Thailand in June, 2017. Therefore we would like to announce that commencing in April, 2017 we will have a monthly lucky draw for our clients with a birthday in April. We will continue to have a lucky birthday winner every month. The winner in the previous month will draw the lucky ticket and transfer his good luck to the next month’s birthday girl or boy winner for a Hotel or Restaurant Voucher.
