From 1 January 2026, Thai car insurance will require you to list who drives your car. If your car was first registered on or after 1 June 2025, this may already apply. It's easy: tell us the drivers' names and we'll make sure your policy meets the rule—you can update the list anytime.
The Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) has issued new guidelines for voluntary (non-compulsory) motor insurance policies.
From January 1, 2026, these rules will apply to all vehicle registrations.
These updates aim to make insurance policies clearer, fairer, and more transparent.
